Opening Refik Anadol
DIGITAL DATA SCULPTURE FOR THE PINAKOTHEK DER MODERNE
Based on extensive image data sets from the four museums, the internationally renowned AI media artist developed a data sculpture that will illuminate the façade at the main entrance of the Pinakothek der Moderne for the anniversary.
Refik Anadol wants to put visitors in a state of "immersion", to transcend the traditional boundaries of observation and expand consciousness. The oppositions between surface and space, reality and fiction, physicality and virtuality dissolve.

Opening MIX & MATCH
REDISCOVERING THE COLLECTION
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Pinakothek der Moderne, the Sammlung Moderne Kunst is being presented in a new way on 3,600 square metres of exhibition space with around 350 works by more than 150 artists. Under the programmatic exhibition title MIX & MATCH, painting, sculpture, graphic art, photography and video art meet for the first time in thematic rooms that span epochs and media. In unconventional juxtapositions, works of art from 120 years open up lively perspectives on central questions of our present.

TWENTY, SO WHAT!?-LOUNGE
in the Winter Garden of the Pinakothek der Moderne
The area around the Pinakothek der Moderne has long been the popular and central meeting place for numerous social groups. We celebrate together with dance, sports and participatory programmes at the southern tip!

UNEXPECTED –
UNEXPECTED EXPERIENCES AT THE MUSEUM
With the UNEXPECTED format, we invite you to short sensual actions in the exhibition space at the Pinakothek der Moderne. Let our art educators and artists inspire you to playfully question your own observations and experience intense encounters with the art objects. Short sound collages, spontaneous poems, drawing experiments and performative interventions open up new approaches and perspectives.

WELCOME ART STUDIO
Together we will discover the originals of the Pinakotheken and the Brandhorst Museum with you and your children and spend a relaxing time! Every Saturday we let ourselves be inspired by a specific theme and inspired by a short guided tour in German and Ukrainian or Russian. In a practical part, we will then design our own works together.
